YOUR PRIVACY
Toss it Privacy Policy
Purpose and scope
Toss it lets you temporarily remove unwanted Google search results by dragging and tossing them, restore them with Undo, and optionally fill the list with results from later pages. It operates on supported search pages at www.google.com, www.google.com.hk, and www.google.com.tw. It also includes a local interactive tutorial.
Information processed in your browser
To provide these features, Toss it processes the current search page URL and query, result titles, snippets, links, images, and page structure. It also processes pointer movements and toss actions needed for dragging, animations, and undo.
For chronological undo, it temporarily records before-and-after text values, cursor or selection positions, and field scroll positions in supported text fields on the page. These include ordinary text, search, URL, email, telephone, and multiline text fields. Text snapshots may contain personal information if you enter it in these fields. Password-type fields, fields marked with password or one-time-code autocomplete attributes, rich text editors, and the browser address bar are excluded from this text undo feature. These exclusions depend on how the page identifies its fields; Toss it does not detect every kind of sensitive information entered into an ordinary text field.
Local storage and retention
Undo snapshots, removed results, fetched results, and control settings are held in the current page's memory. Toss it does not write these records to persistent extension storage, a database, or cloud storage, or send them to the developer.
The extension's search and undo history resets when you reload the page or navigate to another search, and is discarded when the page closes. This does not control data retained separately by your browser, Google, or an image host.
First-install tutorial
On first installation, Toss it opens a bundled tutorial in a new tab. You can reopen it using the extension's toolbar icon. The tutorial uses fictional sample results and local assets; its animation and simulated page refills do not request real Google search results or remote thumbnails. Practice interactions are processed in the demo page's memory.
The tutorial stores a small “seen” flag in that tab's sessionStorage so the animation does not automatically repeat after a reload in the same tab. This flag contains no search queries, text snapshots, or personal identifier and is not sent to the developer. It normally lasts until the tab's browsing session ends, subject to your browser's session-restoration behavior. You can replay or skip the animation at any time.
Network requests
Other page content is enabled by default. When refilling is needed, Toss it requests later pages of the same search from the Google website you are using. Max extra pages defaults to 4 and can be adjusted from 1 to 10. This means additional pages after the current search page; for example, starting on page 1 with a limit of 4 allows refilling from pages 2–5. Pages are requested as needed, rather than all at once.
Refill requests use HTTPS, include the search information needed to retrieve those results, and may include existing Google sign-in cookies sent by your browser. Toss it does not read cookie values. Google receives ordinary request information, such as your IP address and browser information, and handles it under its own policies. Retrieved page scripts are not executed by Toss it.
Available thumbnails may load directly from Google or other image hosts identified in the search results. These hosts receive the requested image URL, your IP address, and ordinary browser request information; cookies may also be included depending on your browser's settings and policies. Thumbnails added by Toss it use a no-referrer policy, which suppresses the Referer header but does not hide your IP address or the image URL. Image hosts handle these requests under their own policies.
Data use and sharing
Toss it uses user data only to provide its described search-page and tutorial features, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy's Limited Use requirements. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising or profiling, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. The extension has no analytics, telemetry, developer-operated server, or cloud synchronization. The developer does not receive or review your search content, input snapshots, or toss history through the extension. The network requests described above go directly from your browser to Google or the relevant image host.
Your controls
Turn off Other page content to stop further page-refill requests; Toss it also attempts to cancel any active refill request. This cannot retract information already sent. Results and images already added may remain on the page, and their image requests are not controlled by this switch. Max extra pages appears only when Other page content is enabled. Lowering the limit does not undo requests already made.
Pause dragging stops new result drags. It does not pause data processing: supported text edits continue to be recorded for chronological Undo and Redo, previously tossed results can still be restored, and page refilling remains available when Other page content is enabled. Resume dragging enables dragging again. Minimizing the controls does not pause these features.
Reloading a search page clears Toss it's current search and undo records. To stop the extension's processing, disable or remove Toss it in Chrome and reload or close affected search and demo pages.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated if Toss it's data practices change. The date and applicable version above identify this policy. For privacy questions, use the developer contact details provided on the Toss it Chrome Web Store listing.
